Lawrence Albert “Doe” Edwards, 79, of Coalfield passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his home. He was a member of New Fairview Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. He had worked for many years as an operator for the Morgan County Highway Department.

He was preceded in death by his Son, Jimmy;  Daughter, Evelyn;

Parents, Lawrence and Ada Edwards; Sister and brothers, Novella Mayton, Floyd, Billy and Glenda Edwards;  Brother-in-law, Junior Mayton;  Sister-in-law, Joyce Edwards;

Nephew, Rodney Mayton.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mossie Edwards;

Daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Allen Orr of Kingsport;

Grandchildren, Blake and Carlee Orr of Kingsport, Morgan, Kage, and Daylee Edwards of Harriman;

Sister-in-law, Linda Edwards;

Niece, Teresa Edwards Brown;

Nephews, Joey and Brian Edwards, Shawn Mayton and Billy Edwards, Jr.

Special caregivers, Flossie Browning, Glenda Fritts, Peggy Sexton, Travis May and the hospice nurse of Covenant Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Coalfield from 12-2:00 pm.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Bro. Lonnie Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Estes Cemetery, Coalfield.
