Garnet Vaughn Justice, 84, went home to be with the Lord on October 10, 2017 at NHC Healthcare in Oak Ridge. Vaughn was born January 12, 1933 in Coalfield to Victor and Violet Justice. He was the second of twelve children graduating from Coalfield High School in 1950. In 1951 he entered the U.S. Army and served at the end of the Korean Conflict. In 1955 Vaughn met Ramona (Mona) Hyde of Jonesville, TN. In 1956 they were married. They made their home in Coalfield and had three children. Vaughn had a proud career of 41 years at K-25 and ORNL. He worked as a pipefitter at ORNL.  In free time he loved spending time with his family, working outside excavating, building, and gardening. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 60 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Tommy and Russell Justice.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mona who he lovingly called “Tootie”;

Daughter, Vicki Jackson and preceded in death by son-in-law, John Jackson;

Sons and their wives, Chuck and Brenda and Kent (Boozie) and Jennifer;

Six grandchildren, three honorary grandchildren, and their families which include seven great-grandchildren and five honorary great-grandchildren, Samantha Justice, Matthew and Kristen Justice, Jada and Dan Chamblee, Jordan and Daniel Mayton, Nic and Erica Justice;

Step-grandchildren, Valarie and Bryan Kirby;

Also, dear friends, Roy Blankenship and Uncle Hubert Baldwin;

Brothers, Charles (Ethel), Randel (Barbara), Dickey (Judy), Mike Justice;

Sisters, Jane (G.M.) McCartt, Kathrine (Robert) Gwinn, Linda (Frank) Purdy, Susie (Terry) Worstel, Denise (Mick) Jones;

As well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Receiving of friends will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Coalfield, TN on Friday, October 13th from 6-8:00 pm with a “Celebration of Life” service following.

Officiating will be Rev. Steve Hensley (nephew), Dr. Jack Parrott, and Dr. Don Long.

Interment will be held in Estes Cemetery on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 4:00 pm.

Pallbearers will be Dan Chamblee, Matt Justice, Daniel Mayton, Nic Justice, Brandon Justice, and Colton Keys.
