Garvel Leon Herrin, age 61 of Coalfield passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at his home.

He was born in New River, TN and moved to Coalfield at the age of 5. He was a member of Middle Creek Baptist Church for many years.  He worked as a transmission tech and enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.  He was presently a member of Calvary Lighthouse Church in Oak Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorene Christopher.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patty Brown Herrin of Coalfield;

Daughters, Stephanie Lorraine Harvey and Melissa Renee (David) Harvey;

Grandchildren, Tiffanie Marie Herrin, Jimmy Lee Harvey, Brandon Christopher Harvey, and Monica Ann Ellis;

Great-grandchildren, Reid and Melanie Ellis;

Sister, Vickie (Mike) Durham and their children, Christina Marie (James) Mauk, Anna Louise (Nick) St. Sauveur, and Michael (Amy) Durham;

And many other special family members and good friends.

The visitation and funeral service will be held on Tuesday evening, April 25, 2017 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Calvary Lighthouse Church, 110 Atlanta Rd., Oak Ridge.  Pastor Randy McClausland will officiate the service.
