James “Jimmy” Roy Humphreys, Sr., 72 of Oakdale, TN passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 27th, after recently learning that he had advanced, end-stage cancer. Jimmy grew up in Coal Hill, born to Reid and Lucille Humphreys, and was the second to the youngest of their 10 children. Jimmy was a “Jack of all trades” who was always ready and willing to help anyone at anytime in anyway that he could.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Kittrell Humphreys;

His daughter and granddaughter, Monica and Bethany Marshall;

His son and daughter-in-law, James Jr. and Janise Humphreys;

Jimmy has four surviving sisters and two brothers-in-laws, Peggy Hickman, Levona and Marvin Hickman, Mary Freels, and Connie and Steed Crass.

Receiving of friends will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Oakdale, TN (Pine Orchard Community) on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 5-7:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at

7:00 pm with Reverend Ronnie Brown (Jimmy’s nephew)  presiding.

A graveside service will be held for family members on Tuesday, May 2nd in the Kittrell Family Cemetery on Blake Road, Oakdale.
