Mark Anthony Smith

Mark Anthony Smith, age 68 of Burrville and originally from Oliver Springs passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at Roane Medical Center in Harriman.  He was a member of Beech Park Baptist Church. Mark graduated from Harriman High School where he excelled in football.  He received a degree in business from ETSU.  Mark worked for over 10 years at Oliver Springs Coal Mining Company where he was a supervisor.  Following his mining career, he pursued his passion for farming by starting Smithgate Farms. There He raised a variety of livestock in Burrville for over 30 years.  He loved “country living” and was happiest on his farm.   Mark also loved being at the lake and spending time talking and reminiscing with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Lee Smith and sister, Angie Smith.

Mark is survived by his father and wife, C.H. and Evalena Smith,

Nieces, Megan Singleton; Andra Evans and husband Ben. Great nephew, Waylon Evans. He was blessed with special uncles, an aunt and very close friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 19, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:30pm at Beech Park Baptist Church.  Funeral services will follow at 7:30 with Bro. Robbie Leach officiating.  Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 1:00pm at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Clinton.
