Billy Ray Gray was born in the Oak Ridge Hospital on February 9, 1953 He passed away at his home in Goose Creek, South Carolina on August 26, 2019 of lung cancer. Mr. Gray was a 1971 graduate of Oliver Springs High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S Navy, serving two tours in Vietnam. Retiring from the Navy after 20 years of service, Mr. Gray managed the Prison Industries for Liber Prison in Ridgeville, South Carolina
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillian Pride Gray;
Grandmother, Cleo (better known as Bud or Mommy) Carson Gray; Brother, Charles Gray, all of Oliver Springs, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Buss Gray, Goose Creek, SC;
Stepdaughter, Donna Dorman (Jerry); and stepson, Thomas Kyseth, of Moncks Corner, SC;
Six grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is also survived by two sisters, Bobbie Smith (Isaac), Knoxville, TN and Tammy Bradshaw (Kenny) of Oak Ridge, TN;
Three nieces, three nephews and ten great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Oliver Springs Cemetery, Oliver Springs, TN.
