Welcome to the memorial page for

Bobbie June Crass

November 5, 1931 ~ January 21, 2018 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Bobbie June Hackworth Crass, age 86 of Oliver Springs passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 21, 2018. She was a member of First Baptist Church and then Kellytown Baptist Church and the only child of the late Everette and Viola Hackworth. Being an only child, she always wanted to have a “big family” and indeed she did. She later became the mother of seven sons and one daughter. Bobbie was a woman of many talents and accomplished so much in her lifetime. She worked for Dr. S.J. Van Hook, Shoney’s Restaurant, K-25 Plant, Crass Coal Company, C & C Ready Mix, and First Baptist Church in Oliver Springs, all while raising and caring for her family. She was known as the “football mom” and could cook for an army, especially biscuits and gravy. She knew how to enjoy life and was even caught wearing her bikini in the snow.

She would take in stray animals and had a thing for “pickling snakes”!  She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed playing and watching basketball, shopping with Mae Cox, listening to gospel music and dearly loved music by Elvis!

She told her children about driving the family coal truck to take her driver’s test to get her license!

During the past four years of Bobbie’s illness, her children have diligently and lovingly cared for their mom until her last day. She was truly loved by her family.
