Douglas A. Knowles passed away June 3, 2017 at the age of 72 at home with family members. He was born in Spokane, WA on March 24, 1945 to his parents, Stanley Albert Knowles and Jeanette Eva Knowles. He worked for Deo-Marine in Knoxville and Bechtel at K-25 in Oak Ridge, TN. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum Corp in Washington State, and also from Boeing Inc. in Oak Ridge, TN where he worked as an electrical engineer and manager.

He was an avid bass fisherman and deer hunter. He was a soccer coach and frequently enjoyed watching soccer played by his son and granddaughters. He lived in Washington state until 1990 and lived the last 27 years in Oak Ridge, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Albert Knowles and Jeanette Eva Knowles and his brother, Vern Knowles, all from Spokane, WA.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 49 years, Barbara Carol Knowles (Carol);

His daughter, Jennie Marie Wagoner;

His son, Jason Scott Knowles;

His daughter-in-law, Katherine Bentley Knowles, and five grandchildren, Alessandra Knowles, Christina Knowles, Jacob Bentley, James Ronnie Wagoner (Jammer) and Roni Lynn Wagoner.

The family is planning a memorial service at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday,

June 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm. The interment will be immediately after in the Grace Memorial Garden.
