Melvin Douglas Roberts

Melvin Douglas Roberts, age 69 of Rockwood, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at his home.

He was born and raised in Harriman and served our country in the US Army. He was a hard working man, wonderful husband, father, grandfather….but foremost, he loved the Lord and  served as a minister for many years. He gave his life to the Lord at the age of 19 years and was a trustworthy friend to many people during his lifetime. He was an evangelist, pastor, and loved to sing for the Lord.

His hobbies included bowling and playing horseshoes with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roby and Irene Roberts;

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Cynthia Ann Roberts;

Children, Tina Kyle, Tonya Cox, Doug Cox, and James P. Brock (Kari)

Grandchildren, Kaley, Kara, Karley and Kaidyn Brock, Chelsea Kyle, Holton, Hannah and Brianna Cox;

Sister, Bonnie

And many other family members and good friends.

Special thanks to Ardella Hope Hill and to all who have been “hands on” and have helped during our time of need and also to Delores Santana and Debbie Hill.

Family and friends are welcome to visit at the home, 1244 Blackjack Rd, Rockwood TN 37854 Friday, May 25, 2018 beginning at 6:00pm with a short service officiated by Bro. David Johnson.   Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00am at Mt. Pisgah Church Cemetery, Westel, TN with Bro. George Miles officiating.
