Roger Lynn Hoskins “Peanut”, age 56 of Rocky Top, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge following  a courageous battle with cancer.

He was a Christain and enjoyed hunting, riding in the mountains with his dog, and watching NASCAR.

He worked as a coal miner and also in construction before his illness.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Roy F. Hoskins;  Brother, Ernest E. “Goo-Goo” Hoskins.

He is survived by his Mother and Stepfather, Dixie and Harold Givens of Rocky Top;

Son, Jason Hoskins of Coalfield;

Daughter, Cheyenne Gibson of Petros;

Sister, Marilyn Shelby of Illinois;

Brother, Ray Hoskins of Rocky Top;

Granddaughters, Alexis and Kelsey Hoskins of Coalfield;

Best Friend, Ricky Brock;

And several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many other family members and good friends.

Cremation was chosen and no services are planned. His cremains will be scattered over the mountains which he loved so much.
