Thomas Vernon Smith

Thomas Vernon Smith, age 79 of Knoxville passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Parkwest Medical Center. He was born September 8, 1939 in Knoxville. He was a member of New York Avenue Church of Christ in Oak Ridge. He was also a retired Crane & Elevator Inspector. Mr. Smith was a United States Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Paul and Charlsie Merrell Smith and his wife, Betty Hurt Smith.

He is survived by his sons, James Edward Smith and wife Lisa of Sunbright

                                            William Douglas Smith and wife Malinda of Coalfield and

                                             Taylor Lee Smith and wife Tammy of Wartburg

Brother, Richard Lee Smith of Oak Ridge;

Seven Grandchildren; Savannah, Morgan and Marley Smith, Chelsea Bunch, Ansley Smith, Devin Smith and Vanessa Smith

Three great grand children, Aidan, Bryson and Axel

The family will receive friends, Monday, July 8, 2019 from 6:00 to 7:00pm at York Avenue Church of Christ. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00pm.
