Damon Lance Owens Obituary

Damon “Lance” Owens, age 56 of Oakdale, formerly of Coalfield passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Fort Sanders Medical Center following a short illness. He was a member of Middle Creek Baptist Church and a 1986 graduate of Coalfield High School.  He earned his Associate of Business Degree from Roane State in 1993. He had worked for UPS for the last 20 years. He also enjoyed yard sales and metal detection.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Damon and Olga Owens; Baby Brother, Walker Clay Owens, and Sister, Donna Owens.


Lance is survived by his wife of 31 years, Karen Eble Owens of Oakdale;  


Son, D.J. Gibson of Harriman;


Brother, David Owens and wife, Rebecca of Coalfield;


Sister, Lynnita Angel-Lee and husband, Robert of Rockwood;


Brother-in-law, Johnny Eble of Oak Ridge;


Special Friends, Tommy and Mary Rose Jackson and John Patterson;


And several nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.


The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 5-7:00 pm at Jackson Funeral Home and Cremation in Oliver Springs.
