Deborah Elaine Swanson Obituary

Deborah Elaine Swanson, 68 of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 23, 2026. She was surrounded by her family.


She was born on June 2, 1957, in Oak Ridge, TN and grew up and lived in Hardin Valley, TN for the majority of her life. She received her associates degree in 1984 and worked as a paralegal and title insurance agent until 2012. She retired from her job at the University of Tennessee in 2016. She was passionate about health, fitness, and exercise, and she enjoyed kickboxing, walking, and line dancing. Deborah was a member of Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She especially loved her Sunday School Class and the friendships she built there. Deborah loved her family and her dog, Haley.


Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, Furman and Irene Swanson, Husband Charles Muse and Brother Toby Swanson.


She is survived by her daughters, Meagan Brakebill (Marshall), Belle Muse (Kiefer), and granddaughters Savannah Large, Elyssa Large, Georgia Brakebill, EllaKate Brakebill, and Adele Brakebill. Along with a host of other family and friends.


Family will receive friends on Saturday February 28, 2026, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm funeral to follow at 2:00 pm. at Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery


 In lieu of flowers you can donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.


She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Until we see you again, mom.
