Freddy Smith

Freddy Smith, age 82 of Oliver Springs, TN passed away on Friday July 3, 2026, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. He enjoyed four-wheeling, and squirrel hunting. Freddy owned and operated Smith Hauling for over 60 years. He retired from K-25 in 2000.

Freddy is preceded in death by parents Elmer and Ida Smith; brothers Elmer Hayes Smith and Howard Smith; sisters Lucille Seiber, June Hammons, Betty Smith, Cheryl Smith and Patricia Smith.

He is survived by his wife Helen Smith; sons Freddy (Teresa) Smith Jr, Stacy (Kim) Smith; grandchildren Casey Smith, Cody Lively, Autumn (JL) Jones; great grandchildren Matthew, Sampson, Raylen, Odin, Gracelyn, Lakelyn and Cowen; and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to Freddy’s nurses; Whitney, Savannah, Brandy and Sonya at Quality Home Health Care.

Family will meet on Tuesday July 7, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Estes Cemetery in Coalfield for a graveside service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Parkinsons Foundation, Alzheimer’s Foundation and the Dolly Parton’s Children Hospital in Knoxville.
