In Loving Memory

Gary Lynn Stokes passed away just a few days before his 69th birthday on January 11, 2026. He was born in Fort Bragg, NC on January 18, 1957, while his father, Richard Stokes was serving in the United States Army. He followed in his fathers’ footsteps by serving his country in the United States Air Force. Following his service to his country, Gary worked in the construction industry as a carpenter.

Gary loved working with small-engine machines and had a knack for mechanics. He could pick up most musical instruments and start playing them without any formal training. Although his guitar was usually in the pawn shop, he cherished it above all else.

Preceded in death by his daughter Jenniffer Stokes, and mother Doris Nicol. Survived by father, Richard Stokes, sisters Vicki (David) White, Deborah Palmer, and Marie Martin, nieces Vanessa East, Sierra Tester, Caitlyn Hunt, and nephews Aaron Stokes, Austin Richardson.

His Ashes will be laid to rest by his dad Richard Doyle Stokes at the East Tn Veterans Cemetery on Friday July 10, 2026
