Meredith P. (George) Pride, age 80, of Oliver Springs died Saturday, March 6, 2021 at his home. He was born on top of Windrock mountain on June 12, 1940. After serving in the United States Army, he traveled as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local #760. Upon retiring in 1996 due to illness he became a faithful member of “The Old Men’s Club” at Hardee’s where he enjoyed special friends and fellowship.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Rev. Bryson and Lucille Pride, three brothers, Jim, Carl and Joe; two sisters, Mildred and Shirley; brothers-in-law, Lonald and Daugherty, Jan Grimes; sister-in-law, Becky Pride; nephews, Lonald “Peanut” Daugherty and Shannon Pride.
Left to morn his loss are those he loved most; Diane, Jason, grandchildren whom he adored, Emma and Thomas Proffitt as well as sisters, Kay Grimes and Faye Russell; several nieces, nephews, special caregivers and extended family
The family will have a graveside service, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Oliver Springs Cemetery.
