UPDATED OBITUARY with Cowboy Remembrance Service: See Date, Time and Location

Paul Mark Borum, age 72, of Coalfield, Tn passed peacefully at his home on Wednesday January 7, 2026.

Paul was the fifth and youngest child of C. Denton Borum and Oveline Reynolds Borum. He graduated from Oliver Springs High School in 1972 where he was an exceptional athlete. Paul’s love of the outdoors and horses led him to work for a time in Fontana Village as a trail escort. In his life Paul literally spent 100's of miles horseback with his horse, Joleen, and riding friends.  Paul also learned to be a horse farrier and was in demand for his skill. 

Later, Paul began working in the heavy equipment field owning and operating his own business. Paul worked for many years (retiring from the State of TN) operating heavy equipment and as a supervisor at the Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville TN.  Paul will be remembered for his welcoming "Happy to see you attitude", his infectious laughter, kindness, and love of animals.

Paul is preceded in death by his mother and father: Denton and Oveline Borum,

wife Sonja, Sister Pauline Borum Barnett and Brother Clarence Borum,

He is survived by his sister Brenda Webb, brother Jerry Borum, Stepson Andrew Johnson Stepdaughter Amanda Lynn Johnson and her children William Michael and Lillie Belle, whom he dearly loved... And his very special lifelong friend Danny Orange.

Paul will be missed by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews’ other family and friends.

Cremation was chosen with services of a Cowboy Remembrance Service.
