ROBERTA (JACKSON) CARDWELL

Roberta Jackson Cardwell, 91, of Newton passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 30, 1928 in Morgan County, TN to the late Elbert and Anna McKinney Jackson. Roberta was an active member of North Point Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. She loved working in her garden, reading, being outdoors and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Cecil Jackson, Paul Jackson and John Jackson; sisters, Jewel Cloud, Jane Hinds and Margaret Jackson Peters; grandson, Tomas Cardwell; daughter-in-law, Helene Cardwell.

              Kathlene Fulp of Coalfield, TN

Grandchildren: Erik Cardwell, Tony Cardwell, David Cardwell, Audrey Cardwell, Joshua Cardwell and Sam Cardwell

A service to celebrate Roberta’s life will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Harriman, TN. Rev. Don Long will officiate. Burial will follow at Estes Cemetery in Oliver Springs, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
