Royce Andy Walls, age 88 of Oliver Springs, passed away at Methodist Medical Center on January 14, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Royce, a lifelong resident of this area, was born on February 21, 1937. He graduated from Coalfield High School and Tri City Barber College in Knoxville.

He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and received an honorable discharge. Royce was a barber stylist and spent many years at Grove Barber and Style in Oak Ridge. He was a people person and loved the time spent there. Royce was a longtime member of Beech Park Baptist Church in Oliver Springs and was the beloved candy man with hard candy sweets to hand out. He loved his church and his church family. More than anything, he enjoyed time spent with his extended family and gave fond nicknames to all his nieces and nephews.

Royce was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Mae Walls of Coalfield; brother Don Walls of LaPorte, Indiana; brother Shannon Walls of Harriman; Sandra Walls Marcom of Coalfield; and Melanie Walls of Oak Ridge.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Walls; son, Greg Walls of Oliver Springs; son, Jim Atkins and wife, Sherry, of Clinton; grandson, Logan Atkins and wife, Celeste, of Knoxville; grandson, Curtis Atkins and wife, Mitra, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; great grandchildren, August, Leo, Clementine, and Anahita; his sister, Brenda Jackson and husband, Bit, of Coalfield; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Beech Park Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. The funeral will follow with Pastor Robbie Leach officiating.

Burial and graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2026, at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Beech Park Building Fund, 1085 E Tri County Blvd, Oliver Springs, TN 37840.
